Mates Leather Project is an artistic documentary of the private lives of the gay leather culture called, "Mates".
Photographed over the coarse of several months, Dana photographed the magic and mystery surrounding these 'behind doors' sex acts of the gay community's deepest regions. Photographed using 35mm black and white high speed film, allowed Dana to capture intimate moments with high contrast and painterly film grain. Using slow shutter speeds and soft focus, he has been able to capture a provocative society in a very artist light. It has only been with the total trust of those he photographs, gaining access into the lives of these private moments, which has made this possible. These sex acts are 'real' and are presented to you, to judge for yourself, the beauty of human nature.
